Our Calculator takes about 10 minutes to complete and walks you through a series of questions to discern your tastes. Your responses are submitted for analysis and then, after comparing your tastes to our vast database of home costs, a report is prepared and e-mailed to you that provides an estimated cost for your dream home. Outdoor Living Show Home

We have designed the Outdoor Living Show Home project as an "on-line adventure" for those interested in:

home design in today’s new economy
outdoor living
current design and interior decorating
the home building and construction process

The "adventure" part is that we are chronicling the whole design and building process of a custom home in real-time, on-line. You can follow along from the comfort of your own home, participating, watching, and learning about how a house is designed & built and all the decisions that go into it. Then, after the house is complete (June, 2011), you will be able to go visit the actual house. The home tour will benefit Will Shields’ charity, the Will To Succeed Foundation

Today’s home design has changed over the last few years as the economy has shifted and people’s priorities have changed. Today, more so than ever, homeowners are focusing on designing efficient, effective space as opposed to focusing on "how many square feet can I get?"—in other words, a focus on quality vs. quantity. And along with that focus comes a real shift toward outdoor living, from choosing the neighborhood you live in to designing the sight lines from your home to dedicated outdoor spaces.

Through the Outdoor Living Show Home project, a custom home being built for homeowners in Rockwood Falls Estates and Meadows, we give you the experience of designing and building their own custom home. We lay out the process and provide a sneak peak into the decisions required and the steps necessary to take a homeowner’s dream from concept to completion.

We provide insightful articles about the latest in home design in addition to the latest in decorating and interior design. For the construction-minded, we chronicle the various steps of the construction process. And for the not-faint-of-heart, we go inside the heads of the homeowners as they take their dream journey—from selecting the community where they wanted to live and designing their home to the various decisions and selections to be made throughout the construction process and moving in.

We do all of this in "real time", as the house is being built. You’ll see pictures of the progress along the way, meet some of the vendors and craftsmen who take a two-dimensional set of plans and make a home a living, breathing structure, and we might even let you help the homeowners make a product selection or decorating decision!

And when it is all done and the house is complete, we plan to open it up so you can see the final product. A home tour is targeted for June of 2011, with proceeds benefiting a well-known Kansas City charity—the Will To Succeed Foundation

Home of Distinction Tour Dates Set

Tour dates for the Forner – La Voy Builders’ Home of Distinction, a benefit for Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics, have been set. Forner – La Voy Wins Silver!

Forner – La Voy was selected by KCH&G Magazine as the Silver Medal winner in KCH&G’s "2009 Remodel of the Year" award competition. We received this honor in the "Best Whole House Remodel from $500,000 to $750,000" category for revitalizing a home in the Somerset Acres neighborhood of Prairie Village. Boulevard of Dreams Breaks Bank

The 2009 KCH&G Boulevard of Dreams, a benefit for the Love Fund for Children recently concluded. We raised over $111,000, exceeding the goal of $100,000! Forner-LaVoy Builders Selected To Build the 2009 KMBC-TV-9 “Home of Distinction” at Cedar Creek

Forner - LaVoy Builders is excited to once again be chosen to build KMBC-TV-9’s show home for 2009, termed the “Forner – La Voy Builders’ Home of Distinction”.

The home is an 8,400+ square foot home being built in serene Cedar Creek. This old world French Country home is nestled in a secluded 2 ½-acre setting with glimpses of the tenth hole of award-winning Shadow Glen golf club.

What truly sets this home apart is its design, inspired by today’s active-lifestyle family. At its heart is a versatile kitchen and gathering area that performs - whether for kids’ homework, the quick meal, and then off to the kids’ events, or for more formal get-togethers with friends. Forner-LaVoy Builders Will Participate in KCH&G Magazine’s “2009 Boulevard of Dreams” Event

In 2009 KCH&G will partner with Cedar Creek and three builders to bring KCH&G’s “Boulevard of Dreams” homes tour back to Kansas City for a second time. Forner – LaVoy Builders has accepted the invitation to participate as one of the builders. In August 2009, three “idea homes” (approx $1.7 million each) will be open for public tour, and the tour proceeds will benefit the Fox 4 Love Fund for children.
